SEAG practice papers and tests
Looking for SEAG practice papers for the Northern Ireland transfer test? Transfera gives your child original questions written in the SEAG style, with timed mock papers, instant marking and a clear explanation for every answer. You can start for free and see how they are getting on from the very first session.
What SEAG means for your child
SEAG is short for the Schools Entrance Assessment Group, the body that sets the assessment used for grammar school places in Northern Ireland. Most children sit it in P7, at around ten or eleven, across two papers in November. The questions come from the Key Stage 2 curriculum and cover English and Maths.
Because the format is fixed, the children who walk in calm and confident are usually the ones who have seen plenty of questions in the same style. That is exactly what these practice papers are for.
SEAG style papers, not official past papers
Transfera is independent and is not affiliated with SEAG. Rather than reuse official past papers, we write our own original questions that match the style, the subjects and the level of the real test. Your child gets fresh material every time, so practice never turns into memorising a handful of old papers.
How a practice paper works
Your child can choose a short topic set for a quick session in the week, or sit a full mock of 56 questions in 60 minutes to rehearse the real thing. Answers are marked as they go, and at the end you get a score with a topic by topic breakdown. The parent dashboard keeps a record so you can watch progress build over the weeks.
Try a SEAG style question
What is the next number in this sequence: 3, 6, 12, 24, ___?
A. 36 B. 48 C. 30 D. 40
Answer: 48. Each number doubles, so 24 multiplied by 2 gives 48. Spotting the rule that links one term to the next is a common skill in the Maths paper.
